Robe de Princesse LLP (“RDP”) is elated to announce that GEORGE by George Spyrou has been chosen by the British Theatre Playhouse (“BTP”) as The Official Fashion Label for The Mousetrap from West End London. Theatre, Arts and Fashion are always referenced and quoted together. Besides the gorgeous costume designs which are much needed for the actors on the production set, Fashion can be a Made In Heaven Collaboration between Theatre Productions and Fashion Houses.
Recently, this trend has been even more articulated by the collaboration between Miuccia Prada’s lavish costume designs for Baz Luhrmann’s adaptation of The Great Gatsby. BTP believes that Theatre, Arts and Fashion are international, global and transcending. By choosing GEORGE as The Official Fashion Label for The Mousetrap, it speaks of an international partnership between British Theatre and Australian Fashion which is something that is very common in our global community and network today. “This is the 21st century where the world has become a global village and we just feel this partnership with GEORGE is a perfect fit for the British Theatre Playhouse. And I happen to love GEORGE’s classic collection”, says Cecilia Leong-Faulkner, Founder and Director of BTP.
The Mousetrap is a murder mystery play by Agatha Christie and opened in The West End London in 1952. It has the longest initial run of any play in history, with its 25,000th performance taking place on 18 November 2012. This is the first time The Mousetrap with its cast from West End London will be opening in Singapore on the 4th of October 2013, brought in by BTP, which celebrated its 10 years’ of founding this year. BTP will also host a Charity Gala on 10 October 2013 to raise funds for the HCA Hospice for The Elderly and the theme of the Gala Night will be “Dressed to Kill”. George Spyrou creates and designs ethereal, divine and captivating gowns. Just pick one from his latest collection from our online boutique at www.robedeprincesse.com.sg, wear it, accessorize a little and we are confident that you will be dressed to the nines and “to kill“.
