Green Is The New Black Asia: A Conscious Festival 2016

The second annual Green Is The New Black: A Conscious Festival 2016 was held on 22 October 2016 at Hotel Jen Tanglin Singapore. The Festival, the first of its kind in Singapore, aims to provide an all-round immersive experience for the participants and visitors through transformational talks by conscious and working thought leaders, a mindful marketplace which features local fashion, art, beauty and lifestyle brands who are conscious in their business practices and also a series of enjoyable and fascinating workshops for participants to learn about adopting a more positive and impactful green lifestyle.

The festival was a full-day event and the transformational talks started as early as 9am. The talks brought together conscious living and working thought leaders from different  parts of the word, style influencers and successful entrepreneurs for rounds of friendly banter and discussions to help the audience discover, connect and be inspired to make a conscious lifestyle choice on green living.

There were 3 separate segments to the transformational talks to empower the audience with efficacious information on how to make a conscious transformation and be encouraged to make a commitment to prevent as much harm from occurring to the environment through their interactions with it.

The audience were able to learn from conscious living and working thought leaders on how to find more purpose and meaning in life and at work by being part of a growing movement and camaraderie of green warriors with a living intent to reduce waste and harm to the environment. Audience also learned from style influencers on how fashion can be stylish and trendy yet ethical and sustainable. Notable speakers included Carry Somers, Lanvy Nguyen, Ho Renyung, Jacqui Hocking, Masami Sato and Tjin Lee just to name a few.

The festival also conducted a series of informational and engaging workshops which provided the participants with an abundance of green ideas on beauty, health and wellness. The participants were introduced to ways on making effective organic products to fix their hair and skin concerns through a fun and interactive workshop conducted by Habiba Raffa from Ayelli. Participants passionate about Yoga, were treated to an energising Yoga class carried out by Strala Yoga and The Wellness Report by Hotel Jen’s relaxing poolside.
