The premium Japanese denim brand, EVISU, is presenting a new playful collection featuring the art of the legendary 80s pop-art artist, Keith Haring. By merging New York graffiti culture into Japanese street style, the collaboration presents fashion enthusiasts a perfect mixture of Western pop-art and Eastern street-fashion.

Mixes and matches icon Haring works with the iconic daicock symbol and typography logo of EVISU, the fun & rebellious spirit of both brands are demonstrated and highlighted to fashion collectors through the simplest yet energetic strokes that printed on tees, denim shorts, beach boxers, beach slippers and all other fashion items of the Keith Haring X Evisu collection.

EVISU was founded in Osaka Japan in 1991 and is named after the Japanese god of prosperity Ebisu. Initially only around 14 pairs of jeans a day were created, each one caringly hand-painted with the now famous seagull logo. EVISU captured the imagination of the detail-obsessed Japanese fashion crowed and spurred a revival of interest in vintage denim which spread around the world. Today EVISU has gained critical acclaim, as one of the ultimate denim must haves, is internationally known and embraced by both collectors and hipsters alike. EVISU was initially more a labour of love than a commercial venture and despite phenomenal success EVISU’s mission to create the highest quality products has remained unchanged. This underlying value defines EVISU’s position as an icon in the history of denim wear.

“Before anyone did anything, EVISU did everything.”

The company slogan of EVISU -“Before anyone did anything, Elvis did everything.” was originated from a quote by John Lennon, one of the members of the famous band, Beatles. The comment has expressed his ultimate admiration for Elvis Presley; who is often referred to as “King of Rock n’ Roll”. Elvis Presley’s creative productions and outstanding performances made him the icon in the history of Rock n’ Roll. Later on the founder of EVISU Mr. Hidehiko Yamane took on the notion of this quote and changed it to what becomes the slogan of EVISU today. This slogan was used in the most recent ready to wear collection as a celebration of EVISU’s 20th anniversary. As a pioneer in denim custom distressing and detail-oriented designs, EVISU strives to live out the notion of the company’s slogan. And to make the brand stand as the icon in the history of denim wear.



Classic patterns and culture in EVISU denim and fashionwear highlight a brand mission that communicates traditional Japanese heritage to fashionistas around the world. At the same time, an attitude of challenging the status quo is expressed with bold design elements. EVISU launched diffusion line EVISUKURO in 2016 to mark the brand’s 25th anniversary, revealing EVISU’s contemporary and athletic identity with brand new silhouettes, fabrication and tonality. “KURO” is Japanese for black. As the name implies, EVISUKURO is evolved from a theme of monochrome. The collection showcases youthful styles that mirror an adventure-seeking lifestyle under two slogans: BEYOND BLACK and BEYOND DENIM. BEYOND BLACK brings an eye-catching choice of seasonal or trendy colours alongside timeless black and white. BEYOND DENIM marks EVISUKURO’s variable fashion elements which blend up-to-the-minute Hi-Street trends with performance features. Geared to everyday needs, the collection has many functional details: Cool Max denim that keeps you cool and fresh, high-tech reflective fabrics, and waterproof zippers etc. Menswear underscores contemporary minimalism and comfort; womenswear features unique fluidity and fabrics like mesh and gauze that let ladies bare as they dare.
