Housed in an airy space on the third floor of the department store, the VIP personal shoppers’ rooms are intimate and elegant. Daylight filters into the room to naturally illuminate the shelves of dresses as guests come in and out at their own leisure. Canapés, drinks, and wine were flowing freely to satisfy afternoon munchies and make everyone feel welcomed. The personal shoppers even picked a carefully curated selection of accessories, ranging from shoes, clutches, and jewellery to complete any look. Upon request, they would gladly advise on pairings with different shoes and their respective sizes from Robinsons’ extensive selection of both affordable and designer ranges.

With a large and plush fitting room, all the ladies could try on dresses with ease. Comfortable sofas were also on-hand for anyone who was waiting or merely observing. With no obligations to purchase the dresses, it provided a great opportunity for ladies to not only view Spyrou’s new collection, but also feel well taken care of in an afternoon of “dress-up”. Even the guest of honour, former MediaCorp actress Andrea DeCruz, delighted herself by trying on a few of his ethereal creations.

Hosted between 3 p.m. to 6 p.m., everyone was welcome to attend the special event at their own leisure. George’s line also provides free alterations should the need arise, as he believes in tailoring each dress to best fit any woman. His creations, which are predominantly long gowns, are so versatile that the dresses could be altered to create a short, cocktail dress. Available in sizes UK/AU 8-12, each gown is flattering to all body types and come in a variety of colours. Spyrou’s forte comes in the arena of breathtaking embellishment and crafty, bejewelled confections. With the need for elegant and standout eveningwear that is still affordable in Singapore, it will surely make any woman feel like a million dollars.
